Appointments

Urgent Appointment

To request an urgent appointment for the same day (Monday to Friday):

  • phone us Monday to Friday from 8am - if you cannot get through at 8am, please try again as sometimes our phone lines are busy so it helps to try again after 15 minutes, if you cannot get through straightaway.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you. We may refer you to another NHS service if appropriate.

If we have no more same day appointments available, we will direct you to another service or health professional for help.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

We offer pre-bookable Saturday appointments, every 6 weeks at Queens Road Surgery and most other Saturdays at other health centres and surgeries within Leicester City. Please ask our receptionist for more details.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond - we will try to assist wherever we can
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible.

However, we can visit you at home if your health prevents you from attending our practices. Please ring before 10am to request a visit and let us know if your condition is urgent. A clinician will call you to assess your condition and arrange a visit that day if clinically advised.
